I’ll Remember
These photos were taken in one day during a short trip to Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
I started my day walking in the market next to my hotel, wondering for how long that meat and fish would stay fresh under the sun with that temperature. I rented a bike with a driver for few hours and I headed first to the Genocide Museum and then to the Killing Fields, two sites left by the Khmer Rouge regime. I decided not to publish all the pictures I took out of respect; I also believe that some things need to be seen in person. Nevertheless to me these photos are a reminder that I may not be able to change the past but I can somehow help to prevent it from repeating itself. I then went back to the city until nighttime, around the river, between tourists and locals, where all that pain seemed to belong to another place, another time…
