Squid fishing

You think you’re going to relax in a beach, drinking cocktails and eating fresh seafood, instead you end up for more than 6 hours in a boat trying to fish for squid with an empty hook and a broken plastic bottle (and failing at that).

This was an unexpected turn of events during a weekend in Ko Samet, a small island not too far from Bangkok. Fortunately, this also gave me also a chance to observe and appreciate all the hard work done by Thai fishermen. The joy of a fruitful fishing day or the frustration of coming back with empty handed.
